On September 4th the Van Gogh Museum opened the doors of it’s new entrance building. Finally the museum has an entrance of international stature, directly at the world famous Museumplein in Amsterdam. Xsaga came up with thé creative idea and we could make it a reality. This unique project was really different from the rest. We designed a labyrinth of no less than 125.000 sunflowers, through which the guests walked a route full of surprises, leading them to the new entrance. An enormous logistical puzzle, not only because of the unusual materials and shape, but even more because the build ha to be in sync with the dismantling of the Uitmarkt, which took place just before. But the result was stunning: a sea of sunflowers!
